Leaving Cert Timetable 2027
It’s always the first thing on parents and students minds in September of 6th Year. The Leaving Cert timetable. Knowing exactly when each exam takes place makes it much easier to plan revision, organise study sessions and avoid leaving subjects until the last minute.
I created a predicted Leaving cert Timetable 2027. It is based on the examination scheduling used over recent years, where written examinations usually begin on the first Wednesday of June and follow a very similar order each year. While the official timetable is published by the State Examinations Commission (SEC), the sequence of subjects rarely changes significantly from one year to the next.
As soon as the official timetable is released, we’ll update this page.

When is the Leaving Cert Timetable 2027 released?
The official Leaving Cert Timetable 2027 is normally published by the State Examinations Commission several months before the exams begin, typically before Christmas. Schools also distribute copies to students and it is available online.
Until then, many students like to use a predicted timetable to begin organising their revision. Even if a date changes slightly, knowing the likely order of the exams helps you decide which subjects need the most attention first. It can be a stressful time, with multiple exams on the same day, so it can be good to be able to picture what those few weeks in June will actually look like.
When is the Leaving Cert Maths exams?
Based on previous Leaving Certificate examination timetables, the Leaving Cert Maths Paper 1 will take place on Friday 11 June 2027 at 2:00pm, with Paper 2 following on Monday 14 June 2027 at 9.30pm.
For most students, Maths is one of the most important exams of the Leaving Certificate. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are worth 50% of the overall grade each, so it’s essential to prepare for both papers equally.
How does the timetable work?
The Leaving Cert usually starts on the first Wednesday in June, after the June Bank Holiday. So the 2027 Leaving Cert exams will start on Wednesday the 9th of June.
Most Leaving Cycle examination days have two examination sessions:
- Morning examinations begin at 9:30am
- Afternoon examinations begin at 2:00pm
Some students only have one examination on a particular day, while others may have both a morning and afternoon paper. Al most all students will have a hectic first week, but the frequency of your exams should taper off after that. I remember having a huge gap between my second-last and last exams. The timetable is designed so that students studying different option subjects can complete all of their examinations over the examination period.
One thing I always say to students is arrive very early. Aim for about an hour early even. Get in there, look over notes, go to the bathroom and relax. No point in adding the stress of rushing to your day.
Can I print the Leaving Cert Timetable 2027?
Yes, I have made a printer-friendly version that you can download here.

Does the timetable include the Irish listening section?
Yes.
One question we get every year is whether students have to return for a separate Irish, French German (or other) listening section.
The published examination length already includes the aural (listening) component for Irish. On the timetable you’ll notice that the Irish paper is marked (including aural) on the Leaving Cert Timetable 2027, meaning the listening element forms part of the scheduled examination time. The same applies to modern foreign language examinations such as French, German, Italian and Spanish that might have an aural component.
Does Higher and Ordinary Level take place at the same time?
Yes. In most subjects, Higher and Ordinary Level exams are scheduled at the same time. Students simply receive the paper for the level they entered. This means students sitting different levels in the same subject will usually be in the examination hall together, but not always.
How to prep for the Leaving Cert maths exam
For many students, Leaving Cert Maths is one of the exams they worry about most.
At Breakthrough Maths, our revision programme is designed specifically around the Leaving Cert course. Students attend 4 live weekly classes, receive structured notes and worksheets, and complete regular testing on our platform so they know exactly which topics need the most attention before exam day.
The whole course is covered during the year, but the most important part is building confidence well before June arrives.
Night Before Exams Masterclass
One tradition we’ve built over the last few years is our Night Before Exams Masterclass.
It is a 2-hour intensive masterclasses to focus on the highest-priority topics. We break down high-mark questions and reveal the last-minute exam techniques that can make the difference between moving up a grade.
The Night Before Exams masterclasses for Leaving Cert Maths will run on Thursday June 10th for Paper 1 and Sunday June 13th, 2027 for Paper 2.
It is always our most popular course, mainly due to the fact we:
- revise the highest-value topics
- go through common mistakes
- cover exam technique
- answer students’ final questions before the exam.
It has become one of our most popular sessions every year and gives students a confidence boost heading into the following afternoon’s examination.
Notes and resources
Alongside our live maths grinds, students also receive access to free maths notes, worked examples and recordings of previous lessons. That means if a student misses a class or wants to revisit a difficult topic such as algebra, geometry or probability, they can go back and watch it again before the exam.
Consistency over the school year nearly always beats last-minute cramming.
Final thoughts
The Leaving Cert can feel like a big milestone, but having a timetable early makes revision much more manageable. Use it to map out your study, focus on one subject at a time and avoid leaving Maths until the final week.
We’ll continue updating this page as more information becomes available and will replace our predicted timetable with the official Leaving Cert Timetable 2027 once it is published by the State Examinations Commission. Until then, good luck with your revision, and if you need help with Maths, our weekly grinds, revision notes and Night Before the Exam Masterclass are all designed to help you feel as prepared as possible.
