2nd Year Tutor
Eoin
Eoin is from Douglas in Cork. He is in his final year studying Maths and Physics in UCC. He has great energy and enthusiasm which he brings to the 2nd Year classes. He achieved 613 points in his Leaving Cert.
Structure
For the 2nd Years, we focus on building the foundations students need for the Junior Cert.
We start with core topics such as Algebra, Fractions, Percentages and Equations before progressing into areas like Geometry, Statistics and Probability.
Our program covers 2 different Maths topics each week. On Monday and Tuesday it’s the same topic; Wednesday and Thursday it’s a different topic.
Class is taught by Eoin, at the same time every single week.
2nd Year CBA
2nd Year students complete Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs) as part of the Junior Cycle.
While our weekly classes focus on improving maths understanding, we also have resources and advice to help students approach their CBAs with confidence.
Our goal is to support students throughout the school year, not just with tests and exams.

x4 Weekly Maths Grinds
Each week Breakthrough Maths students have access to 4 live, online grinds.
We cover one topic on Monday and Tuesday and another topic on Wednesday and Thursday.
Class is with the same tutor, Eoin, at the same time each week. All classes are recorded and sent to students every Sunday.

Our grinds are taught in groups.
The student can see and interact with only with the tutor. Your child can ask questions any time in the chat portal, and the tutor will address them throughout class.
We offer the flexibility to access any class each week. Each week we will be teaching two different topics, so your child has a choice in when they want to attend.
Our 2nd Year classes run for about 60 mins.
They’re students at the end of the day and school is already long enough, so we don’t expect them to focus for more than that length of time.
We’ve been teaching for years now and have dealt with hundreds of kids with learning difficulties. Don’t worry, our tutors are well-equipped to teach children of all learning abilities and levels.
We take our time with them and make sure they get the extra attention that they need.
2nd Year grinds are €149 per month, and your child will have: 4 grinds per week + access to all recordings + access to all supplementary notes and resources.

Yes, we do follow the Irish school curriculum across the Junior Cycle. Most schools do the same topic at the same time of the year. We match that teaching plan.
Yes, each class is recorded. Your child will receive access to our recordings folder upon enrolment. Every class is recorded and uploaded after the lesson. Rewatch classes anytime and catch up on anything they may have missed.
