Weekly Grinds
Weekly grinds begin September 1st for our Primary School students. With Breakthrough Maths, it’s a set monthly fee of €99.
Every week, your child has access to 4 live, online classes. We teach x2 Maths topics each week from Monday to Thursday, so we get a lot covered. Everything is recorded too, which is handy for study.
Class times (Mon – Thurs)
• 4th Class @ 6:30pm
• 5th Class @ 5:30pm
• 6th Class @ 6:30pm
Kahoot Testing
At the end of every class we do a Kahoot Quiz to test the kids on what they’ve learned in the lesson.
It’s fun for the kids and motivates them to pay attention in class. It also helps students get comfortable with tests.
It also helps our tutor to keep track of what topics your child is struggling to grasp. It’s a key part of our primary school grinds.
Primary School Maths Tutor
Ruth
Ruth is our primary school tutor for 5th and 6th class. A Mullingar native, she is studying Engineering in Trinity. She’s warm friendly and really encourages her students to engage in class. That’s central to her teaching. She’s a super teacher.
Hannah
Hannah is studying Financial Maths in UCC. She’s originally from Ennis Co. Clare. That engagement and sense of fun is key to her teaching style. She’s clear, speaks slowly, and is a breath of fresh air in class. We’re delighted to have her on board.

Your grind will feel like a 1-1 grind.
The student can only see the teacher. They interact only with the teacher. The teacher will talk to them infrequently, both in the class and in the chat.
Don’t worry, our tutors are well-equipped to teach children of all learning abilities and levels.
We’ve been teaching for years now and have dealt with hundreds of kids with learning difficulties. We take our time with them and make sure they get the extra attention that they need.

We provide in-class testing to see how each student is coping with every topic.
Your child’s results are available for you to view after each class and we will also provide you with regular updates via email/Whatsapp.
We offer our primary school classes to students in 4th, 5th, & 6th class.
It doesn’t matter what their maths ability is or how many topics they’re struggling with, we’ll help them out.
Our primary school classes run for about 40-45 minutes.
They’re kids at the end of the day and school is already long enough, so we don’t expect them to focus for more than that length of time.

Yes, we do. Most schools do the same topic at the same time of the year. We match that teaching plan.
What’s unique about our system is the fact that we offer unlimited classes each week. Each week we will be teaching two different topics. So you have choice in what you would like to study.
Yes, we do. The Drumcondra Tests have changed in recent years and become more complex. They have become less ‘mathsy’ and more ‘wordy’. In other words, long paragraphs and stories before the maths question itself. Our classes help students to apply maths to real world problems so that they’re ready for the Drumcondras. Our 4th and 5th Class programme focuses on making maths feel achievable and even fun, especially for students who may have lost confidence along the way. We cover all the key areas like fractions, decimals, multiplication, division etc.
Our 6th Class programme is a more advanced version of our 5th Class grinds. It helps to bridge the gap between Primary and Secondary School so students are more prepared for 1st Year. It’s all about building confidence around the basics so students feel ready to take on any type of question.
