Curriculum

For the Junior Cycle, we start with the basics like linear algebra, algebraic fractions, and working with x. This is the bedrock of their maths.
Then we build from there week by week. Our program covers 2 different topics weekly. Usually, the harder topics, like Co-ordinate Geometry and Trigonometry are taught later in the week.
This way, we can be sure to cover everything they need for their exams.
Extra Masterclasses

Breakthrough Maths students have exclusive access to our supplementary Easter, Christmas and ‘Night before exams’ Masterclasses at no extra cost.
We also run once-off Masterclasses on key topics like Algebra and Trigonometry. These Masterclasses are on the last Sunday of the month.
They are in addition to our weekly grinds. Really benefits students in building exam technique!
x4 Grinds Each Week

Our students have access to 4 classes each week at the same time Mon-Thurs.
We cover one topic on Mondays and Tuesdays and another on Wednesdays and Thursdays. All recordings are provided for easy revision and self-study.
“My grades went up from 59% to 97% in Algebra”

Proven Results

A survey we sent to 350 of our Junior Cycle students in October 2025 saw 70% of students increase their grades after taking our classes after their mock exams.
This is our 6th year of teaching Maths grinds and we have data available on all our years.

Our Junior Cycle classes run for about 50-60 mins.
They’re students at the end of the day and school is already long enough, so we don’t expect them to focus for more than that length of time.
Yes, we do follow the Junior Cycle curriculum. Most schools do the same topic at the same time of the year. We match that teaching plan.
What’s unique about our system is the fact that we offer unlimited classes each week. Each week we will be teaching two different topics. So you have choice in what you would like to study.
For 1st Year students, it can be daunting to move from Primary School into Secondary School so we take our time with them. We start where everyone should: Algebra. The building blocks. Get that right, and everything else starts to click. Then we move onto the other tricky topics like fractions, percentages, equations, area, volume, geometry.
2nd Year is where we get moving. We revisit algebra, but more challenging questions like expanding brackets, solving equations, and inequalities. Then we focus on co-ordinate geometry, functions, probability, and stats. We break it all down so it actually makes sense, building on what you know and pushing you forward every week. Confidence goes up. Results follow. That’s the goal.
We hit the ground running for the Junior Cycle. We start with revision of key topics, then diving into the tough stuff: simultaneous equations, theorems, functions, probability, and statistics. Every class is exam-focused, so they’re prepared for June. We teach you how to tackle tricky questions, and how to manage their time in the Junior Cycle Maths exam.
Yes, each class is recorded too. Access to the recordings is sent out at the end of the week.

There are two Maths CBAs in Junior Cycle.
1) A project on a real-world maths problem completed in 2nd Year.
2) An investigation using data collected by the student in 3rd Year. Both are done in class and marked by your teacher.
Students find them pretty confusing so I’ve explained the grading system here.
