How It Works
No Travel
Our online classes means no travelling after school! So much time is wasted getting to and from grinds. With Breakthrough Maths, you can do the class from the comfort of home.
Testing
We focus on testing, not lecturing. It’s all about active practice in class. It allows us to measure tangible outcomes for each student.
x4 Weekly Grinds
Breakthrough Maths students receive x4 Maths grinds each week.
We will cover x2 Maths topics each week. We get a lot more covered in our program. It’s comprehensive!
Breakthrough Maths Tutors
Ruth Keane
Ruth is our primary school tutor for 5th and 6th class. A Mullingar native, she is studying Engineering in Trinity. She’s all about friendliness and really encourages her students to engage in class. She’s a super teacher.
Eoin Dwyer
Eoin is from Rochestown in Cork. He’s studying Maths Science in UCC and received 613 points in his Leaving Cert. He radiates enthusiasm for Maths . He’s clear and explains topics simply. He teaches 2nd, 3rd and 5th years
Patrick Duignan
Patrick is from Wexford Town. He is studying Financial Maths in UCD. He achieved 625 points in his Leaving Cert. He teaches our 1st year Maths classes and also, our Maths Grinds Through Irish. He’s calm and cool in his classes.
Diarmuid O’Sullivan
Diarmuid is one of our tutors from Cork. He has always had a love for Maths and is currently studying Maths at UCC. He has a talent for engaging with students so that they too can learn to love Maths!

We have a team working from 9am-9pm, 7 days a week.
We cover 2 different topics each week, and students choose which ones to focus on.
Every Sunday, you’ll receive a text with the week’s plan. One topic will be more advanced, and we’ll clearly indicate which one. This method ensures we cater to students of all abilities.
A big benefit of our classes is the fact you can join any of the 4 classes we have on, Mon-Thursday. And everything is recorded too.
For example, for 3rd year students, class is at 6:30pm Mon-Thurs. Join any class, any evening!
The fact that we cover 2 topics per week means that you can really push your learning in Maths.
It’s €149/month. Cancel anytime, so just take it month by month.
Our platform tailors to your child. We’ll be with them every step of the way through our live Classes, worksheets and notes, all accessible in the one place. It’s highly personalised.
It’s group Maths grinds. Students only interact with and engage with the tutor.
The tutor can interact with everyone in the class and make sure each child is engaged.
A specific curriculum is made out for each class/year. We always start with Algebra for our Secondary School students, as this is their biggest challenge. We focus on problem-solving and the basics of numbers for our Primary School students. Our curriculum is made by qualified primary and secondary school teachers and state examiners.
Our classes are 45 to 50 minutes long.
Yes, all classes are on Zoom.
All you need is a piece of paper, a pen and ideally a laptop, iPad or phone.

I really struggled with Maths in school. I hated being lectured to. I was lost in class.
In 2020, I set up Breakthrough Maths to help others solve the problems I had experienced.
We have gone from 8 students per week to over 3,000 per week. We have featured on the Irish Times, on The Pat Kenny show and even the 2 Johnny’s.
Maths is a skill. With practice, it becomes easier and easier to understand. A relatable, engaging tutor is what makes a difference.
