Primary School Maths Classes

We offer four 45-minute online classes a week for Primary School students all across Ireland. We’ve helped students in 3rd class who are totally lost, and students in 6th class who just need a little extra boost.
We cover 2 topics per week and place a big emphasis on making maths engaging. We do a Kahoot at the end of every class so the kids have something to look forward to.
Our classes are recorded too so you can rewatch them at any time.
Pricing
The first class is free so you can try it without committing to any payment. After that, it’s €99 per month for four classes a week, two topics covered a week, and unlimited access to our recordings!

Paula Silke
My daughter is enrolled and the improvement in her understanding is fantastic.

Kathryn Sweetnam
My daughter really enjoys doing the classes. After classes she always says that she learnt something new.

Kahoot Testing

At the end of every class we do a Kahoot Quiz to test the kids on what they’ve learned in the lesson. It’s fun for the kids and motivates them to pay attention in class as they want the highest score. It also helps our tutor to keep track of what topics your child is struggling to grasp.

Breakthrough Maths Testimonials
He’s had fun, he’s laughed through Maths, which I didn’t think was possible.

Curriculum Plan
We focus on getting the basics right, and then challenging our students with word problems.
6th Class
The goal of the 6th class is to get our students ready for Secondary School Maths. We recap our 5th class curriculum at the start. We move on to harder topics, such as problem-solving and basic Algebra.
- Basic Algebra
- Area and Volume
- Multiplying and Dividing
- Fractions
5th Class
The goal of the 5th class is to build on the basic fundamentals of Maths. We start with making sure students are comfortable with the basics of numbers. Our 5th Class course covers:
- Place Value
- Adding and Subtracting
- Multiplying and Dividing
- Fractions
- Word Problems.
4th Class
For our 4th class students, we start by practising basic operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying). We then move onto basic word problems involving operations. The goal for our 4th classes is to get students ready for the step-up to 5th and 6th class Maths.
3rd Class
Our 3rd class curriculum makes Maths fun for our students. We foster a love for problem-solving. We take away the “fear of Maths”. Furthermore, we start by bringing students back to basics. We start learning and practicing basic operations (adding and subtracting). We then move onto basic word problems involving operations.
The Drumcondra Tests

The Drumcondra Tests have changed in recent years and become more complex. They have become less ‘mathsy’ and more ‘wordy’. In other words, long paragraphs and stories before the maths question itself. Our classes help students to apply maths to real world problems so that they’re ready for the Drumcondras. If you want to read more about how the Primary School Maths curriculum has changed, read my post here.

We provide in-class testing to see how each student is coping with every topic.
Your child’s results are available for you to view after each class and we will also provide you with regular updates via email/Whatsapp.
Our primary school classes run for about 40-45 minutes.
They’re kids at the end of the day and school is already long enough, so we don’t expect them to focus for more than that length of time.
Don’t worry, our tutors are well-equipped to teach children of all learning abilities and levels.
We’ve been teaching for years now and have dealt with hundreds of kids with learning difficulties. We take our time with them and make sure they get the extra attention that they need.

Yes, we do. Most schools do the same topic at the same time of the year. We match that teaching plan.
What’s unique about our system is the fact that we offer unlimited classes each week. Each week we will be teaching two different topics. So you have choice in what you would like to study.
